GOAL: SELF-EFFICACY
The Easiest Beginner's Workout Ever
Here's the routine:
- 1 crunch
- 1 push up
- 1 squat
Don't believe me? Well, now you will because the answer to "how often" is this:
Daily.
Do it daily. Yes, daily. It doesn't have to be complicated. It doesn't even have to have good form.
Just do it - DAILY.
Set an alarm for it every morning or night so you don't forget. Or bundle it with something you do every day, like brushing your teeth. Like, right before you brush, do your "oneses."
If you miss a day or two, that's okay. Miss a week? That's okay. A whole month, totally fine.
You don't even have to make up what you missed.
Just go back to routine: One crunch, one push up, one squat.
Daily.
Oh and don't cheat. Don't do, like, 10 in one day, then skip the next 9 days. You can do 10 or more in a day - by all means knock yourself out, and good for you - but you STILL have to do your oneses every day.
Eventually you'll feel like doing more.
You'll increase it to 2 a day. Then 10. Then 100 a day (military-style).
For now, the aim is consistency. To do something daily takes faith that it's worthwhile, even though you won't see results for a long, long time, and even run the risk of never seeing results at all.
There will be days when you wonder, "Is this really making a difference?" (It is). There will be days you say, "This is pointless." (It's not).
What you're really exercising is the muscle of self-trust. That's what we're really training here.
Because once you trust yourself, you can do anything.
One crunch, one push up, one squat.
Start now.
